About Claire Walsh | The Worn Edit
Hi, I’m Claire.
I live in Portland, Oregon, with my boyfriend and our rescued dog, and I created The Worn Edit for people who still love style but want a more thoughtful, less wasteful relationship with fashion.
Before this, I worked in fashion media. I spent years around trend cycles, brand storytelling, and the kind of shopping culture that makes constant newness feel normal. I learned how to recognize what looked desirable, polished, and editor-approved — but not always what was useful, lasting, or truly worth bringing into a real life.
Over time, that started to feel off.
Not all at once. More gradually. Too many clothes bought for fantasy versions of myself. Too many pieces that felt exciting in the moment and forgettable a few months later. Too much fashion that seemed disconnected from wear, care, repetition, and value.

The Worn Edit came from that shift.
This is a place for people who want to dress well, enjoy clothes, and still make more intentional choices. I’m interested in style that holds up in real life — in wardrobes that can handle weather, work, walking, laundry, repetition, mood shifts, budget limits, and changing priorities.
Here, you’ll find writing about:
outfit repeating
secondhand shopping
sustainable and semi-sustainable brand notes
greenwashing skepticism
clothing care and repair
buying less, but using things better
I’m not interested in perfection, purity, or pretending ethical fashion is simple. I’m also not interested in shaming people for liking clothes, trends, or aesthetics. Most of us are figuring this out as we go. I definitely am.
A lot of what I share here comes from personal trial and error. I’ve overbought. I’ve fallen for trend language. I’ve kept pieces for imaginary lives. I’ve also learned that some of the most satisfying style changes come from smaller, quieter habits: repeating an outfit with more confidence, passing on a purchase you don’t really need, mending something you almost gave up on, or learning how to tell the difference between a good piece and a good marketing story.
Outside the blog, I spend a lot of time at farmers’ markets, in used bookstores, in independent coffee shops, and hiking in Forest Park with our dog. I also love trying to rescue older clothes with beginner-level sewing, minor alterations, and simple embroidery — partly because it’s practical, and partly because I like the idea that wear doesn’t have to mean the end of a garment’s life.
If that sounds like your kind of approach, you’re in the right place.
You don’t have to do this perfectly to do it better.
Welcome to The Worn Edit.
